Boiling the perfect eggs isn’t a big deal, as long as you follow these three steps, each taking 5 minutes.
1. Place cold or room-temperature eggs in a pot. Add cold water hardly covering the eggs, because you want to bring the water to a boil in just five minutes. On high heat, start the process, timing 5 minutes.
2. After 5 minutes if the water doesn’t boil, add another minute. As soon as the water boils, set your heat to the lowest possible because you don’t want your eggs moving around, which causes them to break up. Time another 5 minutes.
3. When your timer goes off, turn off heat and leave eggs in the hot water for 5 more minutes. Run pot in cold water for a few seconds to cool eggs.
