Never-Fail Rice

After Kim Severson, New York Times

Ingredients:

1 cup long grain white rice
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon table salt
2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt butter in large saucepan or dutch oven. Add rice and cook, stirring, until rice is coated and begins to smell nutty.
  3. Add salt and two cups water to rice and bring to a boil.
  4. Cover and bake in oven for 17 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes. Serve.
