IMG_2570Originally from Tunisia, Shakshuka, which is very popular in Israel nowadays, is a delicious egg dish with tomatoes. Very easy to prepare and cook, and with a rich list of spices combined together, this recipe is also light and flavorful. Preparing time is less than 10 minutes, and cooking time only 20 minutes.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika

4 cloves minced garlic

1 cup chopped red peppers

4 cups chopped tomatoes

1/2 teaspoon caraway

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon white pepper

5 cardamom pods

1 tablespoon salt

half of a crushed chili pepper

1 tablespoon butter

1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese

4 eggs

Steps to make it

Brown the garlic  in olive oil and butter in a large saucepan for approximately 3 minutes, on medium heat. Add all condiments to the pan and let cook for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, slide the 4 eggs off their shells in four spots, making it as even as possible. Cook for 8 more minutes.

After sitting for two minutes, this delicious egg dish is ready to be served.
