One World Trade Center is the name given to the tallest tower of the World Trade Center site of Lower Manhattan, under construction now and expected to be accomplished by the first semester of 2013. After so many years of discussions on how to build the tower, a decision was finally made about its structure and design. The new skyscraper will stand 1,776 feet tall, symbolizing the year of independence of the United States, and will be the tallest building in New York City.

A memorial to the 2,603 lives lost in the buildings on September 11, 2001 is being built at the site of the terrible event. The attacks of that morning lead the Twin Towers, the two tallest buildings of the Big Apple back then, to collapse, after burning for about an hour with two jets filled with oil and passengers. None of the 246 jet passengers were saved, nor were the people who worked on or above the floors hit by the jets, except for two of them, one saving the other downstairs. Unfortunately, those who escaped to the roof eventually jumped so they wouldn’t burn alive. It was a horror scene people didn’t believe they were actually seeing, as it became breaking news in the whole world. That’s probably why some didn’t believe it to be totally true: some believe what they saw on TV was made up by special effects specialists. Some people, also, claimed they heard explosions by the time the towers were burning, stating that the basis could have been bombed right after the planes collided, reason why the buildings collapsed so fast. However, there was no official document making such statement. It’s natural that the towers collapsed after burning with so much fuel from the airplanes. Some even said it was a conspiracy by the American government, which nobody sane can make any sense of why the American government would do such a terrible thing against their own people! In a county where, if 5 people know of a certain secret, it’s no more a secret because it spreads rapidly to the whole nation, a conspiracy of such a serious degree is implausible.
