Located at 40-17 30th Avenue in Astoria, Mix is a very stylish gay bar in New York City.

Mix in Astoria, Queens
We got there pretty early, perhaps at 10:00pm, which is dawn for New York City nightlife. A friend of mine told me about the place a few weeks before we finally decided to go together. The first thing I noticed when I entered Mix was its decor with elegant lights, exuberant colors, beautiful couches, carpets and of course the bar. Everything looks perfect and comfy for a fun night in Queens.
.
The bartenders are very nice and the variety of cocktails are impressive. We ordered some special unusual but delicious martinis and we went over all the selection the house offered. My friend’s favorite was the caramel martini, as for me, sorry I can’t remember after trying them all. Yes, we probably got tipsy. The music is very radio-like with all the greatest classics we love to listen again and again. After 11:00pm the bar started to get crowded and the energy was up. It was time to get the party started!
.
One specific thing I really liked about Mix is that it has a drag queen show and that it’s different than other shows I’ve seen, because instead of having a stage like all other places, the live performance takes place on the dance floor, where the guests are, in the middle of the crowd. And it makes all the difference because you feel like you’re part of the party, part of the night. It was a pure moment of fun shared with all the good looking people there.
.
We laughed, talked, danced and drank until 4:00 in the morning, and when we left the place my friend and I looked into each other’s eyes and said at the same time: “we have to come back to Mix soon”. And you guys who are reading this article have to go there soon too, and experience this awesome place. You won’t regret it.
Are you guys wondering a fast way to get there?
The Queensbound N or W train to 30th Avenue will take you there in approximately 15 minutes from Midtown Manhattan.
